Jeff and Karin Gauvin founded Utah Escapes around a simple philosophy: set honest expectations, exceed them whenever possible, and deliver a consistently exceptional guest experience. With decades of hospitality experience and a shared passion for travel and adventure, we’ve built Utah Escapes by focusing on the details that turn a great stay into a 5-star experience—while giving our property owners a management partner they can trust.

Heather Gallagher

Assistant General Manager

Heather Gallagher is the Assistant General Manager at Utah Escapes. An Oregon State graduate, she has called Moab home for half her life. When she’s away from work, you’ll likely find her climbing, mountain biking, or exploring the desert. For Heather, balancing work and play in Moab is living the dream.

Diego Arreola Olmedo

La Sal Market Manager

Diego Arreola Olmedo wears many hats: father, husband, full-time City of Moab employee, volunteer firefighter with the Moab Valley Fire Department, and La Sal Market Manager for Utah Escapes. No matter how full his schedule gets, Diego makes sure guests and owners feel taken care of.

Heather Gardner

Guest Services Coordinator

Heather Gardner has worked alongside Utah Escapes founder Jeff Gauvin since 2007, when they helped travelers plan ski trips throughout the Rocky Mountain West at Mountain Reservations. A true hospitality professional and part of the foundation of Utah Escapes, Heather brings years of experience to our team. She’s also a devoted Pearl Jam fan—though we’re still waiting for Eddie Vedder to book a stay.

Andy Marston

Salt Lake City Market Manager

A fellow New Englander, Andy Marston made Utah home in the ’90s. He’s a character in the best sense: quick with a story, happy to entertain, and always ready to make a connection with owners and guests. Bringing people together is Andy’s specialty.

Nicole Schmuker

Kanab Market Manager

Nicole Schmuker is Utah Escapes’ Kanab Market Manager and a force on our team. Though she joined us recently, she dove right in, making sure our Kanab homes meet our standards and shine for guests and owners alike.

Jeff Hayek

Park City Market Manager

Jeff Hayek is Utah Escapes’ Park City Market Manager and a skilled smart home automation and audio technician. He brings that same attention to detail to caring for our guests and owners’ properties. His dry humor and sarcasm come standard—and yes, he probably means it. 😉

Jeff's Yellow Door Retreat was secluded - it's about 45 minutes south of downtown Moab, which is the main reason we chose the retreat - made for great night sky viewing and privacy. The house was very clean, very comfortable, modern, and well appointed. Lots of hot water for showers, although the water had a bit of an odor to it. Jeff was very responsive, and provided all the information we needed.

We had an amazing stay at this property. Beds were great! Quiet location. The property was clean and comfortable. Had outstanding communication with Jeff and I appreciated the follow ups throughout the stay to see if we needed anything. Thanks again.
