Delicate Arch Trail

A 3-mile round trip over open slickrock to the arch on Utah's license plate. There is no shade at all — not a midday hike in summer.

Dead Horse Point State Park

A mesa-top overlook 2,000 feet above a bend in the Colorado River, five minutes' walk from the parking lot. It's a certified Dark Sky Park, so it's also the best stargazing near town.

Moab Brewery

Moab's original brewpub on South Main Street, brewing on site with a full pub menu. The default post-hike spot when a group can't agree on anything else.
